Better than just going to restaurants and museums - Took two classes and enjoyed the Thursday evening dance. Christian the instructor was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and knew just what to do to get two gringos dancing salsa. Thoroughly enjoyed the classes and the dance. Would recommended to anyone…
I attended the school for 6 days and knew zero. The school knows how to customize classes to your skill set where one size does not fit all. I had a variety of instructors and they all did and excellent job and contributed to a great experience. The classes are inexpensive for what you get. After a day or two they treat you like a family member. They developed a culture that alot of businesses could learn by….
Had an amazing time taking both private and group classes as well as enjoying the social dance nights on the weekends! Edison and Estefania were excellent Kizomba and Bachata teachers (respectively) as were the other instructors. Prices were fairly reasonable for the private classes. Overall, a very good experience…
Had 2 hours of private classes and 3 hours of group classes of salsa and bachata. The tutors are so patient and passionate with their teaching…
Passion, Patience, Professionalism, and Price Cuts all in One!!! This is the first time that my daughter and have invested money, time, and effort in a dance school that has truly performed above and beyond the multitudes of incredible reviews that you are reading here. As a professor of higher education for over twenty years at one of California's most premiere institutions, I am blown away on a pedagogical level as well as a personal one. My daughter and I have taken multiple salsa lessons in schools that include Argentina, Puerto Rico, USA (Los Angeles, California), Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Spain, Mexico, and beond, and not one of these compares to our most enjoyable experience with DanceFree in Medellin, Colombia. What sets them apart is their most amicable hearts, incredible talent, curiousity in what we as customers want out of the experience, friendly smiles, confidence in themselves as teachers as well as in us as students, endless encouragement in words and non-verbal cues, and, quite simply, their love of what they provide for those of us who are not necessarily gifted dancers…
Awesome place and reasonable pricing! I took 20 hours and absolutely loved every minute! Staff is very knowledgeable and eager to teach! Will make it a priority once again when I visit for more fun…
Great fun! Beginner friendly - While in Medellín, my language school hosted a free salsa class at Dancefree which was a lot of fun. Afterwards I ended up buying 10 private classes, with Sarah as my teacher, to continue learning Salsa. I had never danced before yet after two weeks I felt comfortable dancing and will continue my classes back home. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and you can clearly see that people are enjoying themselves. The staff are patient with non-native speakers and people that have never danced before. Definitely recommend a visit…

Merci beaucoup / A place of sharing and unique learning! Such a great place to learn to dance! I did almost 100 hours of private classes and lots of group classes and loved every one of them. Great coaches will make a smooth dancer out of you…
Superbe expérience, que vous soyez débutant, intermédiaire ou avancés. Classes are offered for all levels, teachers ensure that you assimilate well, there are people from different countries, the weekends there is a live band, you have the opportunity to take private lessons… in summary 10/10…
I dance weekly in my home town in the US. When I visited this place I found the people very engaging and friendly. The instructors were very good dancers. I would like to give a thumbs up to Daniella and Stephania for helping and their instructions. Also Eddison for being so friendly and welcoming. I will be back…
Excelente lugar para bailar y aprender a bailar tanto a Colombianos como ha extranjeros ya que también lo hacen en inglés. Excellent place to dance and learn to dance for both Colombian and foreigners, since they also give the part of the lessons in English…
Unbelievable experience. Extremely thorough and knowledgeable instructors. Christian, Estaphany and Ericson are definitely a must to train with. Having said that you really can't go wrong with any of the instructors. Everyone is so helpful from the lovely ladies in the front desk to the guy behind the scene. You'll love the city of eternal spring as it's called..Medellin. Adios Medellin until then…
My experience so far at DanceFree has been great. After 8 hours of private salsa lessons I am beginning to feel much more confident and comfortable with the basics. The instructors are fun, knowledgeable and give excellent personalized feedback. I wish I signed up sooner…
I've taken about 7 private bachata lessons with Estefania at Dancefree. She's incredible! She helps me perfect my fundamentals in addition to teaching me lots of sequences I can break apart and use in a social dance environment. She's also just a really fun person! Dancefree is an incredible institution. They essentially created the social dance scene in Medellin and care about spreading their love of dance above all else. For this reason exactly, their private classes are super-competitively priced to reach as many people as possible. Thank you for helping me get better at Bachata…
Awesome experience overall - I signed up for 70 hours of private salsa/bachata classes and I am so glad I made this choice. I never took a class of salsa/bachata before, but now I feel as confident as ever. My instructors were Edison, Sara, Estefania, Karina, and Alejandro. They are phenomenal dancers and amazing instructors. Salsa community is very vibrant and I tend to go on Thursday and Saturday nights. As someone interested in exercising creativity and the art of dance, this was one of the best decisions of my life…
Dancefree is a dance family that starts with it's highly skilled and professional dance instructors and extremely organized and kind staff. I am an advanced salsa dancer and beginning bachata student. I love Dancefree so much that I take 3 hours a day of private lessons in bachata and salsa and attend the dance socials three nights a week. It's contagious and very inexpensive for someone coming from the US. My instructors, Edison and Sara, are out of this world wonderful and skilled! I highly recommend them! Thank you, Dancefree…
Awesome Staff, incredible experience, fun place! I could probably write pages about this place and they would probably not do justice at how awesome Dancefree is. But I'll try to summarize my thoughts and experience. First, the location of the place is great, it's right in the middle of everything, it's very central right on one the main streets, or at least it felt that way. The facility itself was super clean and very spacious. While it does not have AC, the fans do a great job at keeping the place cool and well ventilated. Then the best factor in this business...the staff!! I've been lucky enough to have traveled to over 60 countries, and to have owned 3 businesses in the service industry... and I must say, the quality of service that Dancefree staff provides is TOP notch, second to none! I was already aware of the warmth and welcoming characteristic of the 'Paisas' (People from Medellin), but wow, the staff at Dancefree took it up a notch or two. I went with the though of trying it out, and signed up for some private lessons online while I was still in San Diego, CA. As soon as I started scheduling the classes, I noticed the level of service was great…
Go here!!!! Now!!!! This is simply the BEST dance studio in Medellin. They have amazing and friendly dance instructors. I had the pleasure of having Edison as my instructor. He is super fun to dance with, he is very patient and knows how to break down moves.. He will make you a better…
This is a great place to learn how to salsa dance. I have two left feet but my dance instructor (Sara) was very patient with me. By the end of ONE dance lesson, I was already doing some salsa dance moves which I thought would take a heck of a lot longer than that for me to pick up. As I’m writing this review, it’s day three and I’ve gotten a lot better. I’m impressed on how each of these dance instructor has the ability to teach you different salsa dance steps with relative ease. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and want to learn how to salsa dance. You will learn and have fun…
DANCEFREE definitely stole my heart and was a huge part of my stay in Medellin! In fact, I'm planning to come back for a month, or a few, and stay somewhere not too far from the studio so that I can come in every other day! Private classes are the best… Pricing is great too... If you're ready for it, and sign up for a pack of classes you'll get a discount, especially the first time offer. It's really worth it and you don't have to take all the classes with the same teacher so it's pretty much guaranteed you'll find someone who is just perfect for you. All teachers are amazing though! I took classes with so many different ones, Alejandro U, Edison, Elis, Christian, just to name a few. Everyone is super friendly, patient, and seem to really enjoy working there… Tip for girls - make sure you take style classes with girls too so that they can teach you girl specific moves. Daniela and Estefania are awesome! So if you ever wanted to learn Salsa or Bachata - this is it! Just do it! Highly recommend!
Dancefree was one of the highlights of my two months in Medellin! When I arrived, I decided it was time to really focus on and improve my salsa dancing. After attending one of the group classes (which was a lot of fun, and a great way to meet people!), I signed up for private classes 2-3 times a week. Immediately my instructor was able to identify both my strengths and weaknesses as a dancer and helped me improve my technique in a very constructive and supportive way. After two months, I have made incredible progress, and I owe it all to my instructors at Dancefree! They are incredibly thorough and skilled teachers. I especially appreciate the level of collaboration among the instructors. For example, my instructor will often ask me to dance with other instructors and then consult with them…
Dancefree is one of the main reasons I visit Medellin. The best dance classes I have taken anywhere in the world can be found here in Dancefree. Every instructor I have taken classes with is very professional and inspiring. Edison and Estefania are amazing teachers. They take their time to explain the steps and help you grow with challenging steps. It is always a fun and rewarding experience. The socials that they host are very entertaining and include a dance warm up, a lesson and sometimes a live band…
Couldn't dream of a better place to learn how to dance. The atmosphere here is a mix of professionalism and family. You will learn a lot but also laugh and sing. Loved it 11/10…
Best salsa and bachata classes ! The highlight of my stay in Medellin. I liked it so much I actually changed my itinerary in Colombia to take more classes there. The level of Dancefree professors is really something else. They're also very kind and patient. They'll take whatever time you need to teach you the moves. I recommend their private classes a 100%, or even group classes for those on a…
An excellent experience. There is nothing I would change. Sara has been a wonderful teacher, the place is filled with positive vive. I loved it, and will surely come back…
DanceFree is an amazing place. I had scheduled private lessons and stayed close to the facility. I also participated on their many socials. Professionalism commences from the moment of contact. My instructors were Estefania, Sara and Edison. Super talented, patient and friendly. From the first moment they made me feel like part of the DanceFree family. On Thursday nigh they had a social with live band and a mix of local and international dancers. Everyone was easygoing and friendly. The band was so good I had to take breaks from dancing and just watch and listen. Thank you for the awesome…
Gringo learning Salsa - I've never attended any dance class, so I was an absolute beginner. I took in total 20hrs private lessons and it was absolutely worth it. My instructors Julián and Sara were amazing! Both were friendly, passionate, knowledgeable and most importantly very pacient with me and my two left feet :-) They just knew how to do it and you could recognise they love what they're doing! I also attended group lessons where you can practise your skills. I can highly recommend Dancefree and their instructors! Thank you for this incredible experience…
