Salsa dance contest

It is been a while since my last post because everything has been fine with nothing to report other then I am very happy here in Medellin, Colombia. Something good happened last night that I am very happy to share with you. At the place I go dancing about three times a week, they had a dance contest last night, Saturday. There were a couple of hundred people there, and many times there are world-class dancers there. At the beginning of the couples competition I was literally forced to enter by many friends I have made there. If you saw the competition you would understand why I was reluctant to go, but a Beautiful friend of mine named Laura allowed me to be her partner and brought me on the dance floor. She is a far better dancer than I have ever been. I was way out of my league, but the friendships I have made there put me in the finals of this competition. We came in third but I truly did not belong with these fabulous dancers. That was not important though. To have so many people cheering & accepting me among them in a new country made me feel very special and very welcome. I know that most of them cannot read this post because it is in English, but I could not be more grateful for their friendship and support. It is like being home with all of you and the wonderful support you have all given me throughout these years. I should be coming back to Sacramento somewhere around September for short period of time to settle some things I have to do there. I hope to see many of you when I return for that visit. Thank you all for your continued friendship & support. You are all very special to me. - Michael P.
